Description

Select Machine Tool & Supply Co. Model 288RD radial drill press, serial number 1234. Heavy industrial radial arm drill designed for drilling, tapping, and machining large or irregular workpieces that cannot be easily positioned on a conventional drill press.

 

Machine features a geared head with six selectable spindle speeds ranging approximately from 88 to 1500 RPM and a three-step power feed system. Controls are located on the front of the head with speed and feed selector, forward/reverse control, and feed engagement.

 

Unit is equipped with dual electric drive motors and a sliding radial arm allowing the head to traverse across the arm for positioning over larger workpieces. Mounted on a heavy cast iron base with T-slot work table/block fixture.

 

The machine retains original control panel markings, speed/feed charts, and identification plate from Select Machine Tool & Supply Co., Bell Gardens, California.
