This Breyer Traditional-scale model appears to be the Palomino Mustang on the classic rearing stallion mold, one of Breyer’s most recognizable and long-running sculpts. The model features a solid palomino coat with a light cream mane and tail, unmarked body, and matte factory finish consistent with standard regular-issue production.
Based on mold, coloration, and paint style, this example aligns with mid-20th-century to later reissue Traditional Mustang releases, produced across multiple decades due to the popularity of the mold. This is a standard issue model rather than a decorator or special run.
Condition notes: Visible wear present, including paint rubs, scuffs, and notable damage to one ear (chipped/missing material), as well as additional surface wear on the body and legs. No repairs observed. No original box or paperwork included. Identification and condition are based solely on visual inspection of provided photos.
This Breyer Traditional-scale model is the Grey Appaloosa Mustang, produced on the iconic Rearing Mustang mold. The horse features a light gray body with white Appaloosa spotting, sculpted mane and tail, and the molded-on brown halter, a defining feature of this specific release.
This model was issued as a regular production Traditional and is commonly attributed to Breyer model #73, produced primarily during the 1960s–1970s era. The gray Appaloosa colorway with halter is one of the more recognizable Mustang variants and remains popular with collectors of early Breyer molds and Appaloosa-patterned horses.
Condition notes: Visible surface wear, scuffing, and rubs are present, particularly along the flank, mane, and body edges. Spotting remains intact. No breaks observed in ears, legs, or tail.
